The Luna speluncam

The Luna speluncam, is translated roughly to The Moon Cave. The pack found the name etched into the rock by the entrance, and found out why it is called such upon exploring it. It has a small entrance set in soft stone, with names etched into it from previous creatures. Once you go down into it, it opens up into a large cave, though not as large as the old den the pack used to have. It has a small hole in the roof, and when it is night the moonlight shines down, illuminating the cave.

Redstil hated the cold. It soaked into his bones and made his whole body ache. Because of this, he also despises the season of winter. It made everything much harder to do for him, such as just walk around the den. Redstil sighed, shaking out his pelt as he stood and stretched his limbs. He was going to go search for any herbs he could find, though he would probably come up empty handed. Ever since the pack had moved into the area he had searched, yet there had been no such luck finding many herbs, but it also was at least good for something else. The large male turned and nudged his sleeping apprentice.

"Wake up! Training time!"

He barked, nudging them one more time before making his way out of the healers den. Redstil walked to the entrance and sat down, awaiting for his apprentice to wake up. While he waited he surveyed the camp, seeing not many other wolves awake. It is right before dawn... He thought bemusedly.

Axel was, without a doubt, in a horridly foul mood. He had been traveling for days in the blistering cold of winter, with little food and no sleep. He barely even got to rest. The reason why? All the areas he traveled through were taken over canines, felines or some other group of animals that disliked creatures on their grounds. It left very little room for a full sleep or a hunt. The giant was nearly caught by a group of coyotes, and only through extreme skill was he able to make it out unseen and unscathed. As Axel stumbled along the frozen terrain, he smelt the upcoming boarder of a wolf pack. Just my luck. He thought sarcastically, though he passed over the boarder with hesitation, knowing he could most likely move undetected. Death flew above him, just as silent as he for she knew that if he was caught she would be alone and would have to fend for herself, something she was unused to doing. As the large brute neared what he presumed to be the den, the large stone boulder and its entrance coming into sight, thoughts began to swarm his mind as he paused. I can't go on much longer like this... I need sleep... I am starving... Perhaps they can help?... I can always fight them if they attack... He decided that he would try to gain help from them, and with that decided, he started walking towards the entrance once more, one paw in front of the other. He huffed as he sat down, lifting his head and taking in a deep breath of air before releasing it in a melodic howl, signaling his arrival. From them, he awaited.

Crystal ran through the vast, green, lively forest, chasing a butterfly. She yipped happily, a carefree grin on her features as she stumbled after the orange and black butterfly, so close but always out of reach, as if taunting her. She stopped as the butterfly fluttered down on a rock, and crouched down, slowing stalking towards it. Just before she was able to pounce a loud bark made her jump and fall, and suddenly she was on her feet in the healers den, hazel eyes focused on the retreating form of her mentor, Redstil. She had been dreaming. She huffed, upset that he had woken her from such a pleasent dream. I would have gotten that butterfly. She thought in a sulking manor but instantly cheered up when she remembered what he had said when he woke her up. The young apprentice pranced out of the den and ran up to her mentor, suddenly bright eyed. Crystal opened her mouth to speak but a loud howl of a wolf stopped the words from rising from her throat. Without a thought she bolted out of the cave, not thinking that the wolf might be dangerous. She stopped immediatly though, seeing the biggest wolf she has ever seen in her short life, sitting a little ways away from the den area. She smelled the scent of a bird and when she looked up, she saw it circling above. It looked like a crow, but she wasn't sure. "Hello." Crystal said, tail wagging a friendly way, yet she was caustious and ready to bolt back into the safety of the cave, with the defense of the pack.

Redstil came to a stand as he saw Crystal run over
to him, chuckling at the pup like behavior she
exibited. Though, she is only barely older then
a pup. He thought in amusement, sharp green eyes
watching as she stopped in front of him.

"Ready to go?"

He asked, head tilted to the side in slight curiousity.
The large brute saw her go to say something, mouth
open and his ears perked forward to make sure he
heard her clearly. A loud, clear howl shredded the
dawn morning, signaling a wolf's arrival. The
howl sounded like it was real close, yet it sounded
unfamiliar, unlike when a pack member arrived home,
which meant it was a stranger.

"Hey!"

Redstil barked sharply, a quick and alarmed sound,
seeing Crystal bolt past him and out of the cave.
He was after her in moments, not knowing if the
stranger was dangerous or not, and not wanting any
harm to come to his new apprentice. As he slipped
past the entrance, teeth grounding together at the
rush of freezing air hitting him, he saw a large
male sitting in the small clearing outside the den,
Crystal in front of him. In better words, the wolf
was gigantic, dwarfing poor Crystal. He may have
been large, but this wolf seemed to be of dire wolf
genes. Redstil stepped in front of the young adult,
eyes narrowed and teeth bared in the slightest way.
He was larger than most wolves, which gave him
advantage in most fights that he had been through in
his lifetime, yet size surely would not be an advantage
against a giant. Let us hope he is peaceful, for
the warriors are still sleeping.

"What is your bussiness on the lands of Silvermoon. If you
carry ill intentions, you best turn back now. The fiercest
of warriors reside here."

He said, standing alert and at full attention, though
with no apparently aggressive behavior.

Shiklo stood up and yawned before stretching and walking slowly out of the cave, at first he didn't see the huge wolf, until he looked up a little. He took a step back and was immediately alert,he was in a defensive posture with his ears back and his hackles raised. He was still a bit skittish after the fight with the rouges. He didn't move forward, the wolf hadn't done anything... yet. Plus Shiklo was probably the youngest warrior so far, he could try and take on the wolf, but with only a healer to back him up it didn't look good.

Artemis was dozing, between a realm of the awake
and the sleeping. She had trouble sleeping most
days, seeing as how nightmares haunted her every
time she dared to close her eyes. The lack of
sleep and the troubles the pack had faced has
her extremely stressed. She has also been on
extra hunting patrols, trying to keep the pack
well-fed through the harsh winter that they were
experiencing. Being the only experienced and
trained hunter in the pack at the moment was just
adding to the growing stress. Artemis was snapped
fully awake by a loud howl peircing the crisp
morning. The black and white female pulled herself
to her feet, her lips pulling back over her teeth
in a snarl and an agitated growl rumbling through
her chest. It was way to early in the morning for
meeting strangers. She slipped from the hunters
den and made her way to the cave entrance, the
scent of several of her pack mates reaching her
nose along with the scent of a foriegn wolf. She
exited the entrance, eyes narrowed and teeth bared
aggressively. She saw Redstil, Shiklo and Crystal
in front of a huge male. She was amused at how on
on edge they all seemed and she rolled her eyes.
She made her way over to Shiklo, standing tall and
at the ready.

Ink ran excitedly through the forest, kicking up
snow with each pawstep he took to launch himself
further through the forest, to go ever faster.
Adreniline pumped through his veins, icy eyes
holding excitement. The brute was headed towards
the strong scent of others. He knew he was in a
pack's lands, and he should probably be careful,
but he wanted to be around other wolves after
having traveled alone for so long. Maybe even
join if allowed. He sped up his pace at the
thought until he was just a black blur speeding
across the forest. Ink skidded to a suddent halt,
paws digging into the earth as he leaned backwards
to stop. He stood there for a few moments, panting,
taking in the scene before him. There was four
adult wolves and a very young one, seeming barely
older then a pup.

"Hello?" He said, tail wagging as he neared the
group with ears pinned back and body lowered in
a sign that he wasn't a threat.

Axel watched in pure amusement as a young wolf
came bolting out the entrance of what he presumed
to be the den, bright eyed and cheery. The giant
noticed how hesitant she seemed, yet still friendly
as she wagged her tail. He huffed bemusedly, eying
her.

"Hello."

"Hello." He replied to the young ones reply,
his deep voice just one of the few things about him
that matched his size. His golden eyes flicked up
as a large, dark shape moved to stand protectively
in front of the young wolf.
The scent of herbs surrounded the new wolf,
like a thick cloud. A healer? He thought,
a bit of curiousity sparking within him. Axel's
ears perked forward as the male began to speak,
on edge.

"What is your bussiness on the lands of Silvermoon. If you
carry ill intentions, you best turn back now. The fiercest
of warriors reside here."

Axel only stared at the wolf for a few moments,
withholding a reply. Finest warriors? They
apparently haven't met any of the neighboring
packs. He thought in grim amusement, shifting
slightly that in turn made the muscles under his
pelt flexed. "I assure you, I come with no ill
fate to your pack or lands, good sir.
My name is Axel, and I just seek refuge and
to perhaps join your pack. Rest assured
though, I am no lazy beast. I am also very skilled
in war, and perhaps could assist as a guardian?"
He said, voice smooth like honey as he talked, tone
nothing more then an even monotone. Axel noticed
that in the time he was talking, two more wolves
had joined the group, each more aggressive looking
then the last. He simply nodded at the in passive
greeting, waiting now for a response to his inqueries,
not caring by who as long as he got an answer.
Death circled silently from above, looking ominous.
The raven so suddenly and abrubtly start cawing that
it startled the giant, though he didn't let it show.
They didn't know that she almost never made a sound,
and doing so is unnatural. Absolutely unnecasary. He
turned when she she started to fly away, watching
her as she circled and landed in front of a new wolf
that had walked up behind the group. A loner
by the looks of it. Axel thought blankly, golden
eyes watching as Death started to hop in front of the
wolf playfully, cawing and gently pulling at fur. The
wolf seemed to have a very friendly attitude, and Death
had quite a playful one. That might explain it.

Redstil kept to his stony silence, feeling a bit
safer as several others of his pack started to come
forth. It was a few moments before the stranger
answered, but when he did, the answer was surely
not disapointing. Red listened as he explained
his reasons and introduced himself, giving him
a long look before nodding softly. The wolf seemed
to want to cause no ill harm, and if what Axel said
held truth, then the pack would greatly benefit
from gaining such a member. Yet, Redstil didn't
have such power to accept him into the ranks, only
leads of high respect.

"Well Axel, welcome. I am Redstil, this is Crystal."

He said, introducing himself and his apprentice
before continuing on.

"I can not accept you into the pack, yet I shall get
a wolf that can. Wait here."

He said, getting up to go into to the cave to locate
Crow, the male beta of the pack. He would go to
Blizzard, but knew how irritable the alpha was in the
morning. The dark grey male stopped short, hearing
a voice call out a greeting. Redstil's ears twitched,
and he turned around to see a inky black male
crouched in a submissive gesture a little ways from
the group, a general friendly look shining in his eyes.
Redstil didn't feel as threatened by this wolf,
and by the friendly behaviour he had the roughest
of ideas of what he was here for. So he just nodded
in greeting and turned, tail flicking in sign to stay
as he entered the cave, heading towards the betas
den. The betas slep close to the Alphas den and he saw
Crow's sleeping form curled up in his den. He sprinted
a bit, long legs stretching until he was in the den entrance,
blocking almost all the light that shined through.

"Crow, wake up. We have new comers looking to join."

He said, voice low and green eyes focused on his
sleeping form, waiting for him to wake up.

Flame

Flame padded through the forest, rage, pure and hot,
running through his veins. It was at times like these
that, if you knew him anything about his past, would
know he was lost deep in memories of times of old.
His sharp blue eyes were clouded over, giving them
a rather dull looking appearence, and his face twisted
with the expression of past feelings. Most of the memories were
often filled with bitter remenents of anger, which added up to the
current rage he felt. They had imprisoned him, turned him into
a war canine, then tried to kill him. Flame growled, low and deep
in his chest so that it rumbled through him and out his throat,
where it passed curled up lips and exposed teeth. The abrupt smell
of other wolves filled his flared nostrils, ripping him out of his
memories. So there he stood, in front of several wolves, looking like
he was about to attack. In all honesty, he was considering attacking,
since he was a bit nervous and shocked at seeing so many canines
at once. He had only see a few canines in his lifetime, and those few
being in either groups of two or alone. He snarled, growling louder, fur
bristling. Flame narrowed his eyes, ready to attack if neccesary. He must
have been a strange, albiet terrifying, sight. With his red, flame like
markings, broken chain around his neck and his aggressive display, he stood out amongst the wolves greatly.

Crow opened one light blue eye when he heard a voice calling to him, and barely reconized the large form of Crow due to the sleep blurring his vision and the lack of light. New comers. Why is it that whenever a new wolf comes around, there is more then one? He thought irritably. He made a low sound in his throat, opening his eyes and rising to his paws. He stretched his limbs in an attempt to get the stiffness out of them, and yawned. He didn't bother with letting Redstil lead him to the new comers, moving past him and padding towards the entrance, where he smelled strange and foriegn scents. The battle with the coyotes had left him a little more caustious around new comers. He exited the cave, and it took his eyes a moment to reajust to the slightly brighter area of outside. When it did, what he saw made his fur bristle. There, a few feet away from three of his pack mates and two new comers, all looking relitively friendly, was a black wolf with flame like markings, snarling and growling and looking like he was just about to attack. Crow snarled, ears pinning against his head as he revealed his canines. He suddenly noticed that Crystal was very near the threatening wolf, unguarded, and he rushed forward and grabbed her by the scruff, pulling her back with just a small amount of difficulty. She may have been an apprentice now, but if the wolf attacked he didn't want her in harms way. Setting her down next to Artemis and Shiklo, he turned to the three new wolves. "Name and bussiness, all of you." He said it with a growl, authority of a beta in his tone.

Shiklo liatened to the newcomer then relaxed a little, until he saw another one that looked like he was about to attack. Shiklo moved forwards a little bit towards the wolf, teeth bared and a low growl comeing from him.He was thankful to have the beta beside him now, Crow used to be a seeker... he would be useful in a fight. He wondered what he should do, with no lead to guide him. Suddenly he stopped growling "Is it suddenly OKAY to barge into a random pack's den? Because if so, I would like to know!" he practically screeched while he looked around at all of the new wolves, still keeping an eye of the black and red one while he waited for an answer.

Ink was surprised when a raven landed in front of him, but he laughed as it hopped around in front of him, tugging at his inky black fur playing. He dropped into a playful crouch, tail wagging as he whined playfully, eyes sparkling. The black brute nudged the large bird with his nose gently, then turned and pranced away in hopes to start a game of tag. He stopped short when a low growling sound reaches his ears, and he turns to see a black and flame marked wolf, eyes widening as he saw the aggressive display, playful mood vanishing. He bristled just slightly, crouching and edging away with a flash of teeth. Ink froze when he heard a loud voice speak, filled with the sound of authority. He instinctively lowered his head, ears pinned to his skull as he turned his icy gaze to the speaker. The wolf who spoke looked a lot like him in some ways, though more skinnier with longer fur. He lowered himself further to the ground, wagging his tail softly and giving a weak grin as he began to speak. "My name is Ink, and I have come here seeking a pack to join. I trained in the position of scout in my old pack, but I can also hunt and fight well if there is no such rank here." He said, tone light. He winced as a screeched question reached his ears, and he turned to give the speaker a questioning look. They where outside, not in any pack's den. Though, they were standing right outside one, and Ink supposed it was close. He didn't reply, instead just watching and waiting for the events to unfold.

Axel watched the male Redstil get up and walk into the den after saying about getting someone else to accept him and the other. He turned his attention, watching as Death played with the new wolf, chasing after it, with a blank expression, one that didn't change when the black wolf with strange red markings appeared, looking about ready to rip the group apart. He wasn't one to respond to aggressive wolves, due to his size and his fighting skills. A voice demanding answers reached his ears, and he turned to see a black male with blue eyes. Must be the wolf Redstil went to get. He thought. He waited as the other male began speaking, and the giant gave a slight nod in simple greeting. Not wanting to repeat himself, having already introduced himself and explained in great detail why he was there earlier, he simply said,

"Axel. I'm here to join also, I suppose. I am a trained fighter, and assure you that if I am to join that I would be of use."

He said, ear flicking at the screech coming from a young male. He smirked slightly, noticing the look of pure irritation on Death's features.

"Well, when has it ever not been okay? Last time I checked there was no rule against it."

He retorted, giving the young male a flash of teeth in what could be described as a grin, though it looked more like a ghoulish baring of the teeth.

Flame's snarls started to die down as another wolf walked up and started asking who they were and why were they there. They fully stopped by the time two others introduced themselves, though a rouge growl rolled from his chest when a young wolf screeched, though it died down. He didn't really know how to respond, never actually having to join a pack or introduce himself. He decided to follow the other two's example. "Flame. I-I guess I am here to join your pack." His voice was nothing more then a soft murmur as he controlled the urge to attack or at the very least snap at someone. "I am bred for fighting and leadership." He said quickly, remembering the others words. He licked his fangs, letting his electic blue gaze flicker over them all before returning it to the ground beneath his paws.

Artemis watched, expression harsh and cold, as another wolf, though this one seemed much more friendlier then the other. She let her attention wander, not paying much attetion to what the other wolves said or did until a shriek reached her ears, and she gave a harsh glare to the young warrior. "Shiklo! Keep your peace." She spat venomously, bristling. She was aware that Crow was now here, along with yet another wolf. They all seemed to have spoken from there silent and waiting forms. She looked up at the sky and snorted, coming to a stand. "Even though I just love standing out here doing nothing and just freezing my tail off," She started off sarcastically, starting to move away and into the forest. "But I have hunting to do." With those last words she padded away and out of sight, lifting her muzzle into the air to search for scents of prey. She sighed. "This is going to be a long day."

As she paced around the cave near the entrance, the alpha female fought the urge to just flop down and instead let her weary azure gaze travel across each wolf in turn, some wore familiar faces, others not so much. Where was Blizzard? She hadn't spoken to him properly in so long and she yearned for the feel of his soft white pelt against hers, she lifted her head and just stared at the grey roof for a few moments, eyes focused on the ancient rock before dropping her gaze back to the wolves before her and trotting forward. Forcing herself to wake up, more alert, more sharp, on duty. Blizzard had not chosen her as his alpha female so she could lounge around and be sober all day. Pushing her way out, she narrowed her azure gaze at the wolves before her. Ah, a few wanted to join the pack and as always, everyone over-reacted. At least that was something familiar anyway.

She listened in on there skills, Axel and Flame seemed perfect though Flame's words of leadership caused her to narrow her eyes for a moment before brushing it off, leadership could be a natural skill alright. The black one, Ink, seemed much more playful and innocent then the two large brutes and she could not help but smile at the sight of the male though worry sparked in her all the same. How would he get on in somewhere like Silvermoon? Coughing to make herself heard, she stepped forward, azure gaze glittering and the wind tugged at her white pelt. "Well, Axel, Flame, you both seem to sound rather worthy of Silvermoon, I'll let you stick around for a bit. I'll tell you soon on wether you're accepted or not" Dipping her head to them she added in "I'm Tundra, alpha female of Silvermoon" They were in need of a Lead Warrior, she gave Flame a surveying stare for a moment before turning away, if he seemed worthy after the next while, he might work good. Then turning to Ink, she bit her lip. "You might make a good scout" she suggested, watching him curiously.

Crow listened silently as one by one the foriegn wolves introduced themselves and stated their perpose, ending with the flame marked wolf, who to Crow's relief and slight surprise, had not attacked. Axel and Flame seemed fit for the warrior rank. The male could see the two had been in fights, by the scars on them, and if their word was indeed true, they would most likely make great warriors. He threw a glance at Artemis, who said she had to hunt and he nodded in farewell, doubting she saw it. He admired that she always was working so hard to keep the pack fed. Crow tensed as he felt another presense, and only gave a single glance to the Alphess, nodding respectfully as she took over. Of course. He watched as she told Flame and Axel that she would let them stay and tell them wether they were accepted or not. Blizzard doesn't like rouges. He thought in bitter amusement, knowing full well if a wolf wasn't accepted into a pack that made them a rouge. And little of the wolves in silver moon didn't know of Bizzards hatred for rouges. He shot the Alphess a questioning look as she suggested the rank of seeker to Ink. The rank of seeker was something someone had to be born into. They had to have that something about them. Crow used to be lead seeker, and despite was the beta, he was still a seeker at heart. Crow inspected the black wolf, shaking his head. No. Indeed not. His lips curled in the slightest of ways over his lips. "No. The rank of seeker doesn't fit him. He says he was trained as a scout? Them put him in scout ranking." Crow said, though a bit harshly. With that he turned and started walking away, letting a soft howl escape him to signal that he was making patrols.

Flame watched as a wolf, though by the look of it it looked more like a dog, announced she was going hunting and left, his gaze following her movements before he could no longer see her. He barely noticed another wolf of power walking up until he heard his name beind called. His electric blue gaze flickered over to the pure white female as she told him and the other male Axel that they could stick around and he only nodded, paws moving on their own accord after she finished introducing herself. The flame marked male followed in the path of the female who had departed, walking slowly. He was curious, why or about what he had no idea. He stopped as he saw the black and white female, standing there for a few moments, thinking. "Hello. I thought you might want some help." Flame said, padding closer.

Artemis paused, ears flicking as a voice reached her ears. She turned swiftly to see the black and red male from earlier, the one who had come in all aggressive, padding closer. It took her a few seconds to process his words, and gave him a strange look. Help couldn't hurt that bad... Nor company... She thought, giving a slight sound of acceptance and a nod. She started padding forward before stopping again, head tilted in the slightest. "Name's Artemis if you were not aware. Search for big prey, though any small prey you catch is also helpful." Artemis drawled before turning and walking briskly and silently away, nose raised to the sky. She smelt the faintest scent of deer, though it wasn't fresh, about a day or so old. She sighed, padding after it. If she was lucky, she might be able to catch up with it.

Flame nodded in understanding and followed Artemis, enjoying the quiet for a bit before the soft sound of scuffling reached his keen ears. He froze, ears perked forward to better catch the sound. The fresh scent of rabit reached his nostrils, and he started to creep towards it, keeping low to the ground. His dark red belly fur brushed the ground, and he crept forward until he saw a rabbit nibbling on some of the few remaining grass blades. He tensed his muscles before leaping and crashing down beside the rabbit and snapping his jaws in an attempt to get a hold on it. Flame missed it by a hair, but he didn't give up that easily. He stood and raced after the now startled rabbit, moving fast and swiftly. It tripped over a hidden tree root and stumbled, which Flame used to jump in and make the kill. He clamped down his jaws on it and shook it violently, gaining a few scratches across the muzzle from it as it kicked until he had killed it successfully. He panted, tired, but still he jogged back to were Artemis was and dropped the rabbit at her paws, blood from the wound on his muzzle staining the white snow beneath him. "Caught something." He said, voice holding really no other emotion, except you could hear the slight excitement in it.

The temperture dropped suddenly, and the winds started to pick up, wipping up debris and shaking branches. Snow started falling, soft at first, yet it started snowing harder and harder, a sign that it was time to take cover. And fast. A blizzard was forming.

Shiklo just continued to glare then grumbled and flashed his teeth at Artemis as she left. He scratched behind his ear and trotted off, with a slight temper. He started humming one of his favorite songs, American Pie. It calmed him as he started to quietly howl the song "And we were singin' bye bye miss american pie, drove my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry. Them good o'll boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye singin' this'll be the day that I die... this'll be the day that I diiie." he had no idea what most of these words meant, but humans were strange. Suddenly he started getting cold, snow started falling softly, then suddenly it started getting harder. He howled a warning then frantically started seeking for cover. He had no idea how far away from the dens he was, or if there were any old dens or caves to take shelter in, so he just burrowed into the snow and hoped that he wouldn't freeze to death.
